An Improved Reactive Power Sharing in an Isolated Microgrid with a Local Load Detection

Accurate reactive power sharing is one of the main issues in isolated microgrids to avoid circulating currents and overloading small distributed generation (DG) units. A simple enhanced method for improving among parallel-connected DG systems an microgrid was proposed. The proposed uses a compensator term with integral action minimize power-sharing error internally without any need communication or information shared Moreover, disturbance carrying part injected into active power-droop controller, maintaining essential system parameters within their allowable limits. Consequently, compensation trigger effectively detect local load change network provide gains activate control method. stability verified analyzed using detailed small-signal model. effectiveness robustness were validated through comprehensive simulation studies comparisons other related techniques.
